Acceptable Use Policy

What you can and can't fundraise for on UniteGive. Clear rules that keep the platform safe for organizers, donors, and beneficiaries.

This Acceptable Use Policy is part of our Terms of Service. By creating, sharing, or donating to a campaign on UniteGive you agree to follow these rules. We use them when moderating content and may remove or suspend any campaign or account that violates them.

1. Campaigns are welcome for

  • Medical bills, treatment, recovery, and accessibility needs.
  • Memorials, funeral expenses, and family support after a loss.
  • Emergencies — disasters, fires, theft, displacement.
  • Education, tuition, sports, school trips, and scholarships.
  • Faith-based ministries, missions, and community initiatives.
  • Creative projects, small business recovery, and personal goals.
  • Legal defense, in compliance with our Criminal Activity and Legal Defense Policy in the Terms of Service.

2. Campaigns are not allowed for

  • Anything illegal under U.S. federal law or the laws of the organizer's or beneficiary's state.
  • Funding violence, terrorism, hate, or harm to a specific person or group.
  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, regulated weapons, or weapon accessories.
  • Drugs, drug paraphernalia, tobacco, vaping products, or controlled substances.
  • Gambling, lotteries, sweepstakes, raffles, or any game of chance.
  • Adult content, sexual services, or content that sexualizes minors in any way.
  • Cryptocurrency speculation, ICOs, NFT mints, or get-rich-quick schemes.
  • Pyramid, MLM, or chain-letter style schemes.
  • Bail or bond funding for individuals charged with violent crimes, crimes against children, hate crimes, or terrorism.
  • Annuities, financial securities, debts discharged through bankruptcy, or court-ordered restitution paid to a victim.
  • Animal sales, fighting, or any cruelty.
  • Misrepresenting yourself, the beneficiary, the cause, or the use of funds.

3. Honesty and identity

  • You must use your real legal name when creating a campaign.
  • You must clearly identify the beneficiary and how funds will be used.
  • Photos and stories must be yours or used with explicit permission.
  • You may not impersonate another person, organization, or charity.

4. Donor conduct

  • Do not use stolen, fraudulent, or unauthorized payment methods.
  • Do not use comments to harass, threaten, dox, or spam.
  • Do not use UniteGive for money laundering, tax evasion, or sanctions evasion.

5. Updates, comments, and media

  • Keep updates and comments respectful. No hate speech, threats, or harassment.
  • No medical, legal, or financial advice that could endanger others.
  • No personal data of third parties without their consent.
  • No copyrighted content you don't have rights to use.

6. Enforcement

We may, at our sole discretion: remove content, pause donations, suspend or terminate accounts, withhold or refund donations, freeze payouts pending investigation, and report suspected illegal activity to law enforcement. Repeat or severe violations may result in a permanent ban from the platform. Decisions are final.

7. Reporting violations

If you see a campaign that breaks these rules, use the Report this campaignbutton on the campaign page, or email admin@unitegive.com. We review every report.
